Are you feeling lost? Abandoned? Panicked by world events? Not sure of your spiritual future?
If so we have God's Good News to share with you! Find the Bible references below in the New Testament section of any Bible, and see how God's plan to find His lost children can change your life also.
All Have Sinned. Romans 3:23
The reason you feel lost is that you are actually separated from God by sin (wrong actions). God is holy, and cannot stand sin, so there is a distance between you and God.
The wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23
Because you are apart from God, you are also apart from any hope of eternal life with God. This is why we often feel abandoned and afraid. But, here comes the good news...
God is Love! Romans 5:8, John 3:16-17, 1John 4:14-19
God's very nature is love, so He made a way to bridge the distance between sinful people and Himself. Jesus' life, death, and resurrection provide that bridge. Jesus' sinless life and the conquering of death itself by His resurrection from the dead provide a spiritual pathway we can follow.
God invites you to come to Him. Revelation 3:20
Jesus' undeserved death bought life for others. We can follow Jesus pathway to God simply by believing . Believe that God loves you. Believe that Jesus made a way for you. Believe that you need to use that way, since sinners have no other way to be with the holy God. This last point brings us to the ideas of "repentance" and of "baptism." Repentance is being sorry for your sins, for your wrong actions. It includes the idea of turning away from them, besides just being sorry. Baptism is a symbolic washing, washing away those sins from out of your life.
Tell God you accept His invitation! Romans 10:9-10, Acts 2:38
It is best to find a quiet place, and say it out loud:
Dear God, I am sorry for my sins against you, and against other people whom I have hurt by my wrong actions. I accept your offer of Jesus' sacrifice in my place. Please come into my heart now, and show me your ways and your plan for my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Amen means "so be it". In Jesus' name means you are coming to God through His son, Jesus. There is no need of a priest between you and God, because Jesus is our priest.
Just as liquid water, steam and ice are three aspects of the one element water, so God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three aspects of the one God, God. In your prayer, you asked God to come into your heart. This is the Holy Spirit's part in all this. As God's Spirit is with you "in your heart," He will open the words of the Bible to your understanding. He will strengthen your conscience against repeatedly sinning. He will be an ever-present friend, and give you an inner strength, assurance, and peace like you have never known before. You are no longer lost but found . (John 14:26-27, Psalm 46:1)
