First, a little about us... Hunterdon Christian Church (HCC) is part of a fellowship of non-denominational Christian Churches that take the Bible alone as a standard for faith and practice. Our doctrine is generally conservative- evangelical, yet allowing more tolerance and diversity than is found in fundamentalism. It is a position that strives for a proper balance between faithfulness to scriptural doctrine, and diversity in areas of opinion and tradition. "Where the scriptures speak, we speak. Where the scriptures are silent we are silent."
What our service is like... At HCC, our service begins at 9 a.m. Sunday mornings. You will find upbeat worship music and an encouraging message taken straight from the pages of the Bible. Our church dresses in many different ways, from business casual to shorts and sandals, and we encourage everyone to dress as they feel comfortable.
When our worship service starts, you will be invited to join in for a time of singing worship songs. We always have the lyrics projected onto our large screen in case the song is new to you. Our music is a blend of contemporary and traditional praise and worship songs.
We serve Communion every week. At Hunterdon Christian Church we have an open table. If you are a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, take of the elements as they are passed. After communion, we will share a message from the pages of Scripture. We conclude with a time of prayer and an invitation for people to receive Jesus.
We hope to see you soon!
Our Interim Minister David Kahler recently became our pastor. He has been serving congregations in NJ since 2003. He is also a Wing Chaplain in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the NJ Air National Guard. His training goes beyond his M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary and Doctor of Ministry in Transformational Preaching to include leading weekend couples retreats and weekend singles retreats that focus on building strong healthy relationships. In the little spare time he has, he enjoys spending time with his wife, being out in nature, creating various media content, and sharing a meal with his college-age children. Fun fact: he has preached in Asia, Europe, and Antarctica.
